Here we are, nearly at the end of the year, and it’s time to update some of the challenges I joined in 2021. On Bookstagram, I started this #21BooksIn2021 challenge to read some of the books I meant to get to in 2020 but didn’t. Here’s the initial post:
How do you think I did? Let’s find out.
Trial By Fire
I did read this one, but I haven’t written a review yet. I’m never really sure how to review nonfiction. I will say that I enjoyed this one a lot more than I thought I would! I’ll see if I can get a short review written before the end of the year.
To Tell You The Truth
Well…this one is the same case. To Tell You The Truth was such a highly anticipated read for me, but once I finally read it I forgot it so quickly. I haven’t written a review, but I’ll try to before the end of the year.
Dark Matter
I’m off to a bad start…I haven’t read this one yet.
The Vanishing Half
Finally, one I both read and reviewed! Despite waiting so long, I definitely thought The Vanishing Half lived up to the hype.
Walking Shadows
This one I gave away. I realized it was number twenty-something in a series, and I was lukewarm on the subject. It got cleared out and donated to a Little Free Library in a fit of “get rid of books I didn’t like or will never read”. I’m moving in a few months, so I really need to pare down the 400 books I own…
Let Me Lie
Another one I haven’t read. I believe I still have it, but this one still hasn’t sparked my interest since last year.
You Will Never Know
I’m planning on reading this one before the end of the year! I know, the list isn’t looking too promising. But this one and The Dry are going to serve as my final push to cross more off this list by the end of the year.
Only Truth
Check! I buddy-read this one with my sisters. It took me a long time to post it, but I finally got around to it!
Pretty Little Wife
Read and reviewed! Check out my thoughts below.
Don’t Look For Me
This one is the same case as To Tell You The Truth. It was such a highly anticipated read for me, but once I finally read it I forgot it so quickly. I haven’t written a review, but I’ll try to before the end of the year.
Soulmates
Not read…
Her One Mistake
Not read. I promise this list gets better!
The Good Liar
I enjoyed this one a lot! I won this copy from the author, but unbiasedly would really recommend it.
The Dry
Not read yet. Maybe this month, I have the audiobook and a road trip to take…
The Perfect Girl
Not read yet.
When No One Is Watching
The Lovely Bones
I don’t know why I keep passing this one up, because I always hear great things.
The Dog I Loved
I Am Watching You
Behind Every Lie
Apparently I haven’t posted this one on the blog yet either! It’s been sitting in my “upcoming posts” folder for ages. I need to get it going! Here’s the Instagram post in the meantime.
The Hollow Places
Magical realism isn’t usually my thing, but this one had me hooked!
Alright, even though I finished strong maybe I didn’t do as well on this list as I thought I had. I have three reviews to write and one or two books I plan to read before the end of the month. One I got rid of so I’ll likely never read it, and I have seven total that I still need to read. 13/21…at least I got more than half! And the point was clearing them off my shelves, so I’m counting the one I got rid of. 14/21, final answer!
I’m probably going to make a similar list for 2022. Which books would be on your list, for either year?
