The Plot (from Goodreads):
Samiah Brooks never thought she would be “that” girl. But a live tweet of a horrific date just revealed the painful truth: she’s been catfished by a three-timing jerk of a boyfriend. Suddenly Samiah-along with his two other “girlfriends,” London and Taylor-have gone viral online. Now the three new besties are making a pact to spend the next six months investing in themselves. No men, no dating, and no worrying about their relationship status . . .
For once Samiah is putting herself first, and that includes finally developing the app she’s always dreamed of creating. Which is the exact moment she meets the deliciously sexy, honey-eyed Daniel Collins at work. What are the chances? When it comes to love, there’s no such thing as a coincidence. But is Daniel really boyfriend material or is he maybe just a little too good to be true?
The Review:
I LOVED the premise at the beginning of this book. Playboy Craig thinks he’s all that, only to get found out and humiliated by these three women? Sign me up for a catfishing storyline. I honestly would’ve liked to see more of Craig getting what was coming to him, but the story took a different turn after Samiah, Taylor, and London became friends. I loved how these women bonded and came together over the incident, instead of taking their frustration out on each other.
Daniel was a great male lead. I really appreciated his struggle to figure out how to do the right thing–should he choose his job, or his relationship? I don’t think there was an easy answer!
Overall, this book had everything I look for in a good rom-com: witty banter, compatible leads, steamy romance, and a side of strong female friendships. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn’t gotten their hands on it yet, and I can’t wait for Taylor’s story, The Dating Playbook, coming this summer!
