It’s March! I can’t tell you how long I’ve been looking forward to this month, and here’s why: Pat gets his residency assignment on March 18! It’s out of his hands at this point, so we just have to wait until Match Day to find out where we’ll be moving in May. I’m very anxious about it, but he’s in a good position to get the location we want.
In February, I hit somewhat of a reviewing slump. Every time I sit down to write a review, I feel like I’ve already said the same things ten times before. I can’t think of anything new to say about each book. Every review feels like I’m just repeating myself. I’m not sure if this is reflective of my creativity or of the books I’m reading, but it definitely made me unwilling to write reviews this month. I have forced myself to review my NetGalley books to keep my ratio in a decent place, but I haven’t written a single review for a non-NetGalley book all month. I’m trying to catch up, though.
I also started dabbling with the idea of starting a travel blog in February. I love to plan trips, and in my opinion I do a great job of it, so I figured that might be something people want to read. However, it seems like most successful travel blogs are paired with a photography hobby, which is not something I’m really into. For right now, I’m calling it Reader on the Road, and my “niche” is that I’ll be tying my travel posts back to something bookish–for example, a review novel that takes place in the same location. If you’re interested, you can take a look at my first few posts. Please know it’s in its very beginning stages, though! Improvements to come.
February was an average month for me in terms of reading. I was very light on the physical books, but read my usual number of audiobooks.
