I’m trying something new in these monthly wrap-ups–sharing some statistics about my month! Hopefully this text is legible:
I read 23 books in January. Of these books, I’ve only posted reviews for 6 of them so far–maybe shaming myself in this chart will encourage me to stay on top of it??
40% of these books featured diverse characters–you can see the exact breakdown below. (Keep in mind that the way my spreadsheet is set up, the chart for “diverse reads” below can only record a book once. Some books obviously fit in multiple diversity categories, but I picked what I considered to be the “main” representation. For example, TEACHER OF THE YEAR features an MC who is both Jewish and gay. While his Jewish heritage is mentioned, it isn’t discussed in depth, so I categorized this book as “Features LGBTQ+ Characters” in the chart below.)
