Top Ten Tuesday | Books on my Summer 2021 TBR

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Check out all my past TTT posts here. Some highlights:

top ten tuesday

Friends, my TBR is PACKED! I totally over-requested ARCs for June and July, and I’m so stressed trying to get to them all on time. There are way more than ten on my TBR, but I’ve picked out ten summer-y ones to share with you today. Happy reading!

  1. The Lucky Escape

This one pubbed earlier this month, so I didn’t quite get to it in time. Oops! It still seems like the perfect summer read, so I’m excited to enjoy it by my pool in the near future.

  1. The Layover

Lacie Waldon is a real-life flight attendant, and her agent convinced her to write a rom-com based on her job. How fun does that sound? The cover of this one makes me want to hop on a plane to somewhere tropical asap. Today is its pub day, and I’m hoping to finish it by the end of the day.

  1. Such A Quiet Place

I’m a huge fan of Megan Miranda, so I’m extremely excited for her newest release!

  1. Instamom

Books about social media influencers are my guilty pleasure. I loved People Like Her and Followers, so when I read the blurb of Instamom I knew I needed to get my hands on it asap. It just sounds so fun!

  1. Isn’t It Bromantic?

Have you read Lyssa Kay Adams’ Bromance Book Club series? I have tackled the first three this month, so recently that I haven’t yet written reviews for them. The fourth one comes out very soon, and I’m so excited for this series to continue!

  1. The Seven-Day Switch

I’m a sucker for books about moms behaving badly, and adding in a Freaky Friday twist sounds so fun!

  1. What If You & Me

The first book in the Say Everything series, Yes & I Love You, is one of my top reads so far this year. I’m so excited to read Andy’s story.

  1. The Lion’s Den

I absolutely adored The Siren, but haven’t yet read Kat St. John’s first book. You can’t get more summer than a yacht trip!

  1. The Sinful Lives of Trophy Wives

Back on the topic of adults behaving badly, this looks like the perfect summer guilty pleasure read.

  1. False Witness

Okay, this one isn’t summer-y, but I need to mention it because it is my number one most anticipated book of 2021. It comes out at the end of July, and I was lucky enough to receive an ARC. I’m about halfway through and loving it, but it’s heavy material so I took a break to meet some other reading deadlines in the meantime.

What are you reading this summer? Are you over-committed like I am, or are you lucky enough to be able to read at your own pace? I’m so fortunate to be able to read a lot of the titles early (and to receive gifted copies), but it can get stressful when the TBR titles start to stack up! Do we think I can get through my TBR by the end of the month?

    1. WHAT I never feel that way. I love traveling! I flew cross country and back in 36 hours this past weekend to see family for the first time since covid!
