The Review:
This is the first book in the Trouble In Paradise series.
It’s been a long time since I read a cozy mystery, but I’m so glad I picked this one up. It was the perfect thing to read by the pool this past weekend! I absolutely loved the setting of a resort island in the Caribbean. The descriptions of the island drew me in, and I felt like I could picture it perfectly.
Plum is a largely unlikeable character, but it was fun to watch her grow throughout the book. She starts off as this loud, whiny, rushed New Yorker, but quickly has to learn to adjust to island time. I really enjoyed her friendship with Juan Kevin, and I’m hoping to see more of them together in future books!
If you’re looking for a lighthearted mystery that you can read in one afternoon by the pool, this one is for you.
