Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Check out all my past TTT posts here. Some highlights:
- December 1: Books I Want to Read Again
- December 8: Top Ten Wintry Reads
- December 29: Favorite Books of 2020
- January 5: Most anticipated releases for the first half of 2021
This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is a freebie, aka pick your own category.
Lately I’ve been noticing book covers that look very similar to each other. Lots of MS Paint-esque covers like The Vanishing Half, which really brighten up my bookshelf, but also others with very similar styles even if the books aren’t similar at all. Here are some I’ve noticed recently:
Mother May I and Are We There Yet
Survive the Night and Where the Truth Lies
Dead By Dawn and Black Ice
American Delirium and Anchored Hearts
While We Were Dating and Not Your Average Hot Guy
It’s so interesting how these trends work. I’d be bummed if I published a book and then noticed others with very similar covers! Can you think of any more matches?
Great topic! I love seeing cover comparison posts like this. 🙂 I really like Black Ice, and Anchored Hearts is so pretty.
Similar covers really tend to confuse me, because I always end up mistaking books because of that. I hadn’t noticed the ones on your list, though! I always think it’s really interesting to see how similar covers of different books can be sometimes. Great list!
Here’s my TTT post.
I’ve noticed this as well, but it’s super interesting seeing similar covers right next to each other. Great topic and list!
Happy TTT!

Love this topic! I have collections of book covers that have similar colours and covers so I really enjoyed this. The first two are so close, I would easily mistake one for the other.
