The Review:
There was a lot to enjoy about The Good Luck Charm. A hot hockey player, a chosen family, a little bit about a dog, and high school sweethearts. I loved Lila, and how she did everything she could to help those important to her while trying to juggle a career and school.
I loved the first half of this book, but by the second half, I thought Ethan was so toxic and controlling! I was so angry on Lila’s behalf when he showed up when she said she needed a night alone and didn’t let her sleep. That’s not love! I was claustrophobic just reading it. I think I need to stop reading second-chance romances because they never do it for me!
What I really wanted was more of Lila’s other relationships. More of her and Carmen, and their big life change that was just totally glossed over!
I enjoy this author’s writing style and will certainly be reading more by her in the future, even though this trope isn’t my favorite. A book about Carmen, maybe?? I need to do my research and see if this series continues.
